About Me
Hello and welcome! My name is Elijah Shades, callsign KK7GKG. I am an amateur radio operator, student, and technology enthusiast with a strong interest in communications systems.
I am a proud member of the Salt Lake Youth Amateur Radio Club (SLYARC), where I enjoy learning, experimenting, and collaborating with others who share an interest in amateur radio.
Marching Band & Percussion
Music plays a major role in my life, especially percussion. I have a strong passion for mallet percussion, and throughout my entire time in marching band I have played Vibraphone.
I joined the Herriman High School Marching Band during the 2024–2025 school year as a sophomore. The 2025 marching band season has now concluded and was a meaningful and rewarding experience.
During the 2025 season, I performed as Vibraphone 1 in a show based on Orpheus and Eurydice. One highlight of the season was having the music writer our show was based on visit our school to speak with us. Our band and show were also featured in the news.
Intertie Status Update
As of December 24th 2025, the Packet Intertie is no longer attached to the Intertie full time. While it can still be linked when needed, ongoing issues led to the decision to return primary operation to the SkyHubLink Repeater System.
