Welcome to my Website!

Hello and welcome to my page!

I'm Elijah Shades, a young amateur radio enthusiast, often called a "Young Ham," who is really into building and managing repeaters. Repeaters are super important for extending the range and improving the quality of radio signals, and I love working on them.

Here’s a bit about the repeaters I manage:

445.0875 MHz, Offset: - CC:1 NAC:293: This repeater operates on 445.0875 MHz with a negative offset. The "CC:1" refers to the Color Code 1 used in the Digital Mobile Radio (DMR) mode, which helps prevent interference by distinguishing different DMR groups. It also uses a NAC (Network Access Code) of 293 for the P25 digital mode, which helps with digital communications and clear signaling - 6/2/25 Update - This Repeater Has been turned into a Voice on Control Portable Trunking Site.

447.475 MHz, 100.0 Hz CTCSS: This repeater operates on 447.475 MHz with a CTCSS (Continuous Tone-Coded Squelch System) tone of 100.0 Hz. It’s linked to Skyhub through Allstar, connecting it to other repeaters and nodes for a larger network and better communication coverage. Additionally, this repeater has a VHF remote base that is statically connected to the 147.12 MHz (Farnsworth / Intertie) repeater. When the remote base is enabled, it disconnects the Skyhub link, providing an alternate mode of operation. - 6/2/25 Update - Removed VHF Remote, Added Full Duplex RF Link Between Snowbird and Site, Added RLC3 Repeater Controller, Added 433 Remote to Nelson Peak, Added Salt Lake Youth Hub and Spoke Link Repeater (441.xxx/446.xxx)

I’m also a proud member of SLYARC, which stands for the Salt Lake Youth Amateur Radio Club. This club is dedicated to getting young people involved in amateur radio. Being part of SLYARC means I get to learn a lot, meet other young hams, and contribute to the amateur radio community.

I have my own personal website where you can find more details about my projects, repeaters, and other amateur radio topics. Feel free to check it out!

Here’s how you can connect with me on the Skyhub system:

Additionally, I’m currently looking for an AutoPatch Card for the RLC-3 Repeater Controller. If you have one or know where I might find one, please let me know!

You can also find me on my own Multi Mode System

For my radios, here’s what I carry:

If you want to chat or have any questions, you can email me at [email protected]. I’d love to talk about radio, share ideas, or just connect with other enthusiasts.

Thanks for visiting!
